This makes them challenging parts that test design sense and machining technology in terms of how much originality can be incorporated within constraints. ISA's first product was a sprocket, and they continue to focus on improving quality through constant refinements in design and manufacturing methods for their signature machined ultra-duralumin sprockets.

The unique shape, color, and texture are the result of meeting ISA's own rigorous standards, which are far stricter than those for general mechanical parts. ISA defines the performance required for motorcycle sprockets as precision, strength, and wear resistance. NC machine tools are used for machining to eliminate errors by streamlining processes. Materials and the 50μm thick hard anodized finish are selected based on strict proprietary standards.

Using ultra-duralumin, which is lightweight, strong, and offers high shape stability for precision machining, is standard practice. However, ISA goes further by collaborating with material manufacturers to use plate thicknesses not found in standard lineups, reducing cutting volume to minimize potential distortion. This reduces processing time and material waste, achieving a balance of high quality and reasonable pricing.

In sprocket machining, increasing the precision of the tooth dimensions and shape that contact the chain is relatively easy. The real challenge lies in the center hole and bolt hole positions and diameters. No matter how precise the tooth profile is, it is meaningless if the mounting points are misaligned. Many OEM and aftermarket products fail to address this. Sprocket eccentricity is a common cause of uneven chain tension. To solve this, ISA eliminates misalignment as much as possible and uses continuous processing to dramatically improve not only the precision of individual machined parts but also the dimensional accuracy between them. Additionally, tolerances for center and bolt holes are kept to a minimum to reduce eccentricity during installation. The snug fit upon installation is a result of this pursuit. The surface is treated with a 50μm thick hard anodized finish to increase wear resistance and enhance the beauty of the machining. For off-road models, vertical grooves are added to the tooth roots to prevent and discharge debris. The high-quality feel is confirmed by the precision during installation and the high wear resistance proven through continued use. ISA considers these factors to be the definition of high performance in a sprocket.
