I'm using it for hitting the oil seal on my 250cc front fork. When I hit the seal with Slide hammer, it hurts my hand. The seal is pushed in parallel with the hand until it enters, and then the hammering is done while checking whether the seal is hammered in parallel well, and adjusting the force of hammering. The seal should be pushed in parallel by hand until it reaches the point where it should go in. The seal should be driven in parallel to the seal.
