Genuine Yamaha Protector Cover for YZF-R1 2008
It appears that this protector getting hit by a large stone whilst riding makes it break, weird that right. This was another case of just bad luck, I have not even heard of this happening to anyone else let alone, having to change one out. It also had an impact with the crank case cover 2 and 3 and inner oil pump cover which also needed replacing.No worries, I found the correct part using the tools Webike provide, luckily these do fit a lot of R1 models so they are easy to come by. Webike had this part on sale at the time of ordering so the price was excellent. With a few other parts, my order was shipped with my regular courier, EMS and arrived with all parts in one piece in 5 days. This part was in it's own small box and this made me smile as I knew it would be perfect. It is a very nice and clean piece of machining and all the holes line up perfect. The finish is smooth adn no blemishes or marks in any way. As I said, I have not even heard of anyone having to change this but it is simply a bolt on part. Now I am confident the bike will be protected and hopefully, no stray stones whilst riding. Thank you Webike.
